FAQs

Thank you for visiting Sean Murphy Art Sales, your exclusive source for buying Sean's original art!

Here are a few common questions and the answers to them:

Q1: Is Sean taking commissions?

A1: Very rarely; his last spot for an 11x17" piece had a closing bid of $12,000 USD. We don't accept requests, but any public notification of availability will be posted on the @SeanMurphyArt Twitter feed. Please don't email or contact us with requests.

Q2: Can I pay for art over a few months? (Layaway/Time payments)

A2: Yes! For pages and covers, you can check out our Time Payments page and contact [email protected] for more info.

Q3: Will Sean be attending any cons in 2023?

A3: Yes, but not too many. Here are his next appearances:

France Trip:
May 5th - Paris - Pulp's Comics
May 6th - Le Mans
May 8th - Amiens
May 9th - Lyon
May 10th - Nice
Sean will be doing free, quick sketches as time allows. Please check with the shops at which he's appearing for more info (we don't have specific appearance details).

Q4: Is there any pre-Batman art (Tokyo Ghost, Punk Rock Jesus, Chrononauts, etc) available for purchase?

A4: Sorry, all pre-WK art has sold.

Q5: Does Sean charge for signatures at conventions?

A5: To cut down on excessive "signature stacks", the first 5 ungraded signatures are FREE, then the cost if $5 each after that. Graded signatures are $10 each.

Remarques (quick Sharpie doodles) are $80 each.

Please have your comics unbagged and ready for signing.

Q6: How much does international shipping cost?

A6: International s/h varies by location, but there aren't any inexpensive options. Costs start at approximately $70 for Canada and ranges up to $80-200 or more, depending on the cost of the art and your location.  All items ship by FedEx, US Postal Service Priority Mail, or UPS.  If your insured art is damaged or destroyed, please email [email protected] with pictures of the damage and we will issue you a full refund when the claim is paid or ship you replacement art of equal value. If you choose to have your art shipped uninsured, SMAS is not responsible for replacements or refunds of damaged/lost purchases.

Any duties, fees or taxes due in your destination country are your (the buyer's) responsibility.
